Our CEO, Charmaine McQueen, regally dressed as a Ghanaian Queen addressed all the staff, followed by presentations of dance, traditional display and beautiful poetry.
South Africa has 11 official languages: English, Afrikaans, IsiZulu, IsiXhosa, IsiSwati, IsiNdebele, SePedi, SeTswana, SeSotho, ChiVenda and ChiTshonga. But at The Almond Tree, we include the beautiful languages from our friends across our local borders such as Shona (Zimbabwe), French (Congo), Shwahili (Tanzania), Yorumba (Nigeria) and Urdu (Pakistan).
Heritage Day presented the opportunity for each person to celebrate their heritage with each other, acknowledging and honoring our differences and embracing the qualities that set us apart.
